Wofford Terriers Stuns Montana Grizzlies

  Score: WOFFORD 23, MONTANA 22

The third-ranked Montana Grizzlies were upset by Wofford Terriers on Saturday in Washington-Grizzly
Stadium in front of 17,701 fans. Dan Carpenter's 47 yard field goal try with four seconds left in the game
was wide left. From where I was sitting, the field goal looked good and I thought the Grizzlies had pulled
out a win...only to see the South Carolina bench rush the field jumping up and down cheering "We Won"
and then came the 1000 or so fans who made the long trip.

From the beginning of the game with the grand entrance from the air of four parachuters landing on the
Grizzly Bear in a packed maroon and gray covered landscape. From the opening, the atmosphere was
different, the entire stadium sang the National Anthem with the band playing in the background, Monte's
acrobatics and entertainment, the jumbo tron capturing moments of fans in the stands to standing
bundled in 7 degrees weather. It will be a game day that will be remembered by all fans, Grizzly Spirit
was alive and even after the game, we congratulated the Terriers and wished them well on their quest for
a National Title.

It was a heartbreak loss for the 22 seniors. Their season is over, but they were a team that found a way
to win in some very close games all season despite injuries, obstacles and challenges faced. They
finished the regular season undefeated with a record of 11-0 and earned the Big Sky Conference Title.

We are proud of this team and their accomplishments. Congratulations on a great Season!
