Robert L Kienietz aka "Big Bob" passed away on February 28th in Colorado.

February 12, 1936 - February 28, 2007

Mr. Keintz was founder of Marine Recon Association and the Marine Embassy Guard Association.

In November, 1998 at the first MEGA Reunion in Arlington, Virginia, I had the distinct pleasure of working very closely with Bob as we lived in Alexandria, Va during the time. We worked very hard to make the first reunion a success and in making all who attended appreciated by providing an environment to share past experiences and memories. Bob put me in charge of hospitality among other things and every thing that he told me to do, I did. It was a huge success and started a great chapter for MEGA.

At this event, I was able to surprise Bob and give him a distinct MEGA plaque with the logo. This award was for the fact that he had started something that would bring all together once a year and reunite. This year, the association is planning their 10th Annual Reunion in Quantico, Virginia. Bob, cheers to all you have done for all who have served, your memory will live on.
